Founded in 1957, the Moscow Boys Choir Choir® is the most prestigious all-boy choir in Russia. The commitment, and dedication, displayed to their art truly raise the bar of the modern choral experience. Under the direction of Choir Master Leonid Baklushin, these performers have enchanted audiences throughout the world, touring Germany, Italy, Belgium, Holland and United States; with special appearances at the International Festival of Boys Choirs in Poland, The Royal Albert Hall in London, and the White House in Washington, DC. The richly dark tones and unusual resonance of mature Russian males singing tenor and bass parts distinguish the Choir.
Available for concert halls, cathedrals, universities and festivals, the 30+voice Choir returns to North America for its annual Fall/Winter tour of Christmas Around the World. Repertoire includes new and vibrant carols of Russia, Europe, and North America, many sung in their language of origin. Also featured will be favorites from previous tours including excerpts from Handel's Messiah, holiday treats such as "The Twelve Days of Christmas," "Silver Bells" and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas," plus their hauntingly beautiful rendition of "Silent Night."
"This pure, transparent tone is often described as 'angelic,' and its weightless beauty indeed puts a listener in mind of things celestial."
