On The Boulevard

International celebrity and Tony Award winner, LILIANE MONTEVECCHI, stars in "ON THE BOULEVARD".

The hit Off-Broadway one-woman revue is a musical whirl through the lamp-lit streets and music halls of Paris after dark featuring songs by some of the world's finest popular composers. From songs about Paris (Cole Porter' "You Don't Know Paree") to songs set in Paris (Jerry Herman's "I Don't Want to Know"), this musical entertainment is a love letter to all things French.

Subtitled "Une Soiree Parisienne", the show offers tributes to Josephine Baker, Edith Piaf, and the cabaret legend Mistinguet. The array of divergent composers featured in "ON THE BOULEVARD" includes Aznavour, Brel, Anthony Newley and Richard Rodgers.

Reviews and Quotes

"When Liliane Montevecchi struts onto the stage we
know at once that here is a woman who has been in
mythical places. What pulls her show together is Miss
Montevecchi's authenticity and passion for show
business... a charged romantic excitement."

Stephen Holden,THE NEW YORK TIMES

"Hearing her sing in French and English,, you think of
Parisian cabarets and late-night taxi rides, of romantic
interludes in sidewalk cafes and the Folies Bergeres,
where she starred for ten years."

Allan Wallach, NEW YORK NEWSDAY

"She plays on the audience as easily as moonlight on the
Seine; and she places herself one on one with everyone
game enough to make eye contact. Her singing, accurate
and hold, is dazzlingly, personal, outrageously all things to
all audiences."

Clive Barnes, NEW YORK POST

"Montevecchi knows how a song by such as Jacques Brel,
Charles Aznavour, Cole Porter and others of the musical
aristocracy should he milked for maximum emotional
nourishment."

Don Nelsen, THE DAILY NEWS
