Piaf...Love, Life & Lovers

Piaf: Her Life, Lovers and Songs

No star in the world of French song has ever burned brighter than that of
the Little Sparrow, Edith Piaf. She was a woman who lived for love - and
expressed it passionately in her songs.

Internationally acclaimed performer Micheline Van Hautem brings her own
brand of intense artistry to bear in this new show, Piaf: Her Live, Lovers
and Songs. Co-starring is the celebrated singer/pianist/lecturer Steve Ross
with Guus Westdorp at the other keyboard.

This is not an imitation of Piaf but a celebration of her songs seen through
the eyes of two remarkable interpretive artists. She lived in the classic
age of French popular song and stories and melodies of her fellow
chanteurs, such as Jacques Brel, Charles Trenet and Gilbert Becaud will be
woven into the evening.

Piaf was an indefatigable discoverer and promoter of talent – two shining examples of
this are Yves Montand (who shared the bill with her as well as her bed) and
Charles Aznavour.
