IN THE KEY OF COMEDY

In The Key of Comedy starring Joan Crowe is a fun-filled show that pays tribute to the great Jesters of Jazz, the composers of our time who have written not just great jazz tunes but songs that also have a sense of humor. The shows will feature classics by Cab Calloway, Fats Waller, Louis Jordan, Dave Frishberg, Bob Dorough and many more.
“I’m on a mission to inject a little humor into the world of jazz,” says Ms. Crowe, who the New York Times described as “A slightly twisted and superbly talented chanteuse.” Together with her jazz trio they have crafted a delightfully entertaining and humorous show.
In The Key of Comedy is an out growth of Ms. Crowe’s innovative pod-casting project – www.FunnyJazzChick.com – which is filmed live on Monday nights at Birdland and has subscribers in over 63 countries world wide. Joan’s comic ability earned her the 2002 MAC Award for Female Musical Comedy.

There simply aren’t enough superlatives. Joan Crowe “In The Key Of Comedy” is a winner on every possible count. Her phenomenal rendering of “Boom Boom” barely scratches the surface of the brilliance of this show. - Andrew Martin, Cabmagazineonline.com

Joan Crowe gets to the heart of a song’s story. And she’s funny. And she’s beautiful. Joan Crowe gets the hat trick.
