Trio West Plays Holiday Songs

Sophisticated and swinging holiday songs arranged by Tobias Gebb. Trio West is a New York City based piano trio. The band has existed in one line up or another since 1998, the common thread being the drummer and leader Tobias Gebb and his original arrangements and compositions. As accomplished degree holding musicians, the members of Trio West have performed with a wide variety of internationally known artists both within the jazz genre and beyond. They include: Cab Calloway, Jon Hendricks, Donald Fegan(Steely Dan), Lenny Kravitz, Joe Lovano, Larry Goldings, Art Baron(Duke Ellington), Arnie Lawrence, Peter Yellin, Buster Williams, Antonio Hart, Central New York Jazz Orchestra, Ryan Kisor,The Howard Williams Jazz Orchestra, Duane Burno, among others. Further experience includes international touring, numerous television appearances both on major networks in America and abroad, and recording contracts with both major and independent labels including Sony, BMG, N2K, Rockadillo Records, and Rounder Records. In addition, the leader Tobias Gebb won a Grammy competition in 1996 for 'best original band' with the widely aclaimed group skizm.

As a musical point of reference, Trio West chooses its inspiration from the great piano trios of the 20th century whose style reflected a sophisticated and relaxed sound with the ability to swing at a whispers volume. These include The Amhad Jamal Trio, The Red Garland Trio, and The Vince Gerauldi Trio.
